ABOUT OUR LOGOS
Logos tell a lot about what is important in a very visual, illustrative way.

Donauschwaben Crest
The Donauschwabien crest was created in 1950 by Hans Diplich. The black eagle, chosen by Charlemagne in the 9th century to represent the Holy Roman Empire, protects the borders of the Austrian Hungarian's region from where our ancestors come. White represents peace, green is for hope and the fields from their homeland which became known as the "Bread Basket of Europe". The six towers of the Timisoara fortress are the six main settlements founded by the Donauschwaben: Banat, Batschka, Slavonia-Symia, Sathmar, Hungarian Highlands and Swabian Turkey. Over it lies the rising sun, the symbol of Christ, and the waning crescent moon, representing the Turks that were pushed back to the land from which they originated. The blue band is symbolic of the Donau River, the route most of our forefathers took to find a better life.

Donauchwabien Farm and Cellars
Our logo, created by Jim, depicts our family's focus combined with the location of our winery located in the heart of the Cleveland National Forest. Our traditional Austrian Hungarian dancing, the vineyards, the giant oaks, the Abbey located in our canyon, even the chickens with whom we share our property, all contribute to our lives and represent what we hold dear.

Sunflowers and Rosemary
Our Sunflowers and Rosemary logo was created by Isabell with items from a typical Donauschwabien celebration. Sunflowers represent long life, lasting happiness, good fortune and positive opportunities. Rosemary signifies love, fidelity and remembrance.
